A gentle sedative, excellent for calming the nerves and relaxing the spirit. It is reported to ease tobacco and alcohol withdrawal. Dr. James Duke, ex-USDA ethnobotanist notes that the herb is sometimes smoked as a safe and pleasant Cannabis substitute, though we prefer it as an evening tea mixed with mint and honey.
